PROVIDING HOUSING FOR LOCAL FAMILIES
As thousands of local families are forced to leave Hawaiʻi every year, access to housing is my top priority. As Chair of the Housing, Sustainability, Economy and Health Committee, I have introduced and passed multiple bills to help xxxxx:
Extends ADU fee waivers to provide additional housing options for families.

Allows licensed contractors to self-certify residential solar systems to meet City requirements.

Approved over 4,000 affordable housing units on Oʻahu since taking office in 2023.
Aims to expand eligibility for the City’s down payment loan program.
PUBLIC SAFETY AND HEALTH
I’m committed to passing legislation that strengthens our public safety efforts, supports first responders, and improves the quality of life of all Oʻahu residents.
Funded positions to fully staff (Dawn to Dusk Program) extended lifeguard services during all daytime hours.

Reaffirms City policy that states, landfills shouldn’t be located near drinking water sources.

Eliminates the sale of flavored tobacco products to protect our keiki.

RESILIENCY
Establishes a cesspool conversion grant program within the Climate Resiliency Fund to assist certain households with the cost of upgrading, converting, or closing cesspools.
