Statement on Bill 47 (2026)
“For many Oʻahu households, a registered, road-ready vehicle is a necessity. It gets residents to work, kids to school, and helps families manage everything in between. Bill 47 (2026) reduces the vehicle registration fee, keeping more dollars in residents' pockets. For households with more than one vehicle, that relief adds up with every car on the registration. This is how we effectively tackle the cost of living, delivering direct relief in the areas that people rely on every day.” – Council Chair Tommy Waters.
